Commonly used barrel plating processes can be divided into three types: horizontal barrel plating, inclined barrel plating, and vibration plating. These three types of barrel plating methods not only use different types of rollers, but also have different coating effects.

Starting from the horizontal barrel plating process, the column or bamboo drum is used here, and it is placed horizontally in use, and the drum axial direction is horizontal. In the daily production process, hexagonal rollers, chrome-plated rollers, rod-shaped rollers, sewing needle rollers, etc. are all in the category of horizontal barrel plating.

The shape of the drum for the inclined barrel plating process is a "bell" shape or a "bowl" shape, so that the angle between the axial direction of the drum and the horizontal plane is maintained at 40 to 45 degrees. In this way, the running direction of the part subjected to barrel plating is inclined to the horizontal plane, which is also the origin of its name.

There is also vibration plating process, the drum is mainly made up of a special circular sieve or disc shape, and the movement of the parts inside the drum is mainly realized by the vibration force from the oscillator. Because of this, the drum for vibration plating processing can be called a vibrating screen.

In the vibration plating process, in addition to the special shape and operation of the drum, its vibration axial direction and horizontal plane will also remain vertical, so that the moving direction of the internal parts of the drum is horizontal, thus better completing the electroplating process.
