1. UV lamp power selection.




(1) The power of the UV lamp, that is, the radiant energy of the UV light, is also called the penetrating power. First, it must meet the spectral wavelength and power density requirements of UV inks (varnish/ink) absorption. If the power of the UV lamp is not enough, even if the illumination time is longer, the number of times of passing the UV curing device is more, and the product does not reach full curing. On the contrary, the surface layer of the UV ink (varnish) is aged, blocked, and brittle, and the adhesion of the ink (varnish) is also poor, which may result in poor adhesion between the layers of the overprint. Because low-power UV light cannot penetrate the bottom of the ink layer, the bottom is not cured or cured.




(2) The UV lamp power generally needs to meet the requirements of 80-160W/cm, but the higher the power, the greater the heat. Therefore, how to reduce the temperature to deal with different illumination products is a problem that every manufacturer must carry out.




(3) The optimum service life of the UV lamp is generally 800-1000 hours. It should be replaced after the arrival, because the intensity of the ultraviolet light emitted by the UV lamp during this period becomes weak, which greatly reduces the curing effect. At the same time, it is recommended to clean the surface of the lamp tube and the reflector on the surface of the reflector with absolute ethanol at the appropriate time according to the production environment (air dust content), and then turn the UV lamp tube 90°. This is beneficial for all UV radiation to be effectively radiated onto the UV ink or varnish to ensure a certain penetration.




2. Reflector The types of reflectors are concentrating, parallel, and multi-faceted. Generally used is a concentrating type. The structural feature of the reflector is that the reflected UV light energy is concentrated, and the light curing efficiency is high, which is beneficial to the ink solidification of the thick ink layer, and the deep layer of the ink can be completely cured. What should be noted in this regard is the selection and shape of the reflector.




(1) The material of the reflector is aluminum material. Because the aluminum material is larger than the heat, it is beneficial to lower the temperature. The inner reflector of the reflector is preferably coated with high-gloss nickel-aluminum plate to increase the reflectivity.




(2) The shape of the shape reflector is to ensure that the UV light can be gathered together, so the shape of the semicircular arc is optimal. Also pay attention to the position of the UV lamp to ensure it is in focus. In addition, the reflector is an important channel for the heat dissipation of the UV lamp, so the outer side of the aluminum cover is processed into a heat sink to increase the heat dissipation area. The reflector plays a very important role in the UV curing device. Some manufacturers often overlook its role, and use some alternatives to act as a reflector, even without a reflector, so that 40%-50% of the UV energy of the UV lamp is wasted. However, some manufacturers' solutions are to increase the power of the UV lamp. This will not only solve the problem fundamentally, but also cause more power waste.




3. The choice of transformer transformer must match the power of the UV lamp. That is, the transformer must have sufficient output voltage to ensure that the UV lamp can work at full power. If the output voltage is too high, the lamp will burn out; and if the output voltage is too low, the lamp will not work at full power, thus making the UV output intensity insufficient.




4. The choice of capacitor capacitance should be matched with the lamp and transformer. The degree of withstand voltage of the capacitor used is selected according to the output voltage of the transformer. If improperly selected, the capacitor will be broken down, which will affect the normal operation of the UV curing device.




  ventilation system




It consists of a fan, an air duct, and a hood. What should be noted here is the choice of the fan and the control of the air volume and the way the air is exhausted.




  1. The choice of fan should be determined according to the power of the UV lamp and the actual situation of the cabinet space. It is generally necessary to distribute two wind turbines and a wind blower, but the small UV machine also has only one exhaust fan. Insufficient power of the fan, insufficient airflow will cause the temperature inside the chassis to be too high, the life of the lamp is shortened, or even melted, and the quality of the cured product is difficult to be guaranteed; if the fan power is too large, the air volume is too high, so that the temperature inside the chassis is too low. The UV lamp does not work at full power and the cured product is not easy to dry.




  2. The control of the air volume means that the air volume of the UV curing device should be adjustable. This is because A, considering the temperature difference between winter and summer is very large, many factories do not have a constant temperature workshop, so if the UV curing device works with the same air volume in winter and summer, it will definitely affect the quality of the product. B. The conversion of strong and weak power will also have corresponding changes in the demand for ventilation. Generally, the two fans are controlled by the temperature control method. When a certain temperature is reached, one fan is automatically started, and then another fan is started up to a certain temperature. The item A is a live valve on the exhaust and air inlets. Control the air volume of the intake and exhaust, and the B item is the automatic frequency conversion of the UV machine to adjust the air volume.




3. The way of exhausting the air means taking the wind under the wind or the wind under the wind. But no matter what the way, don't blow the wind directly onto the UV lamp, because the result is that the UV lamp can't work at full power due to excessive heat loss (the light changes from white to blue without glare). Make the ink not dry at all.
